Update v3.2 for Refined Gold Overhaul, Tavern Trawl, is out and piping hot!
This is a smaller update than v3.1, but it does make some important revisions to fishing encounters and filling your national dex. Fishing encounters have been revamped and cleaned up, making encounters both more consistent across areas as well as properly taking into account night fishing as a mechanic. Before certain Pokemon added to fishing tables were simply unavailable at night when they were intended to be found all day - this update fixes that! Certain Hoenn/Sinnoh Radio Encounters are also revised to make distribution more cohesive, along with some extra special Safari Zone buffs to integrate it into the player's journey without being a total pain. In vanilla HGSS, the player needs to play on over 70 individual days to unlock all of the Pokemon exclusive to the Safari Zone. While that hasn't been necessary to complete the National Pokedex since the start, it's been tweaked to make it more worthwhile to visit the Safari Zone itself without requiring the player to get any of the block multiplier upgrades.
And of course a big change in this update is being able to talk to a bunch more people in the overworld! Elite Four members will pop up here and there after you get the Power Plant fixed! As an added bonus, when talking with Gym Leaders for a photo you can now stick around and chat a bit. This makes the world quite a bit more lively and something to keep an eye out for as you waltz through the post-Blue postgame.
Also in the mix are some small gym leader tweaks, smoothed out midgame encounters, and improvements to superboss movepools to make them more, well, super!
Overall this update improves the cohesion of the encounter tables and polishes some old rough edges to a shine. Old saves are fully compatible, so check it out and enjoy!
